Applying the second and third coat of Cetol to the teak Day Sailer trim
This was the finish after the 1st and 2nd coat. The wood was fairly rough and absorbed a lot of the finish. You can see in the later pictures on this post that after the 3rd coat it really started to smooth out. Here is after the 3rd coat of Cetol Varnish. (ok Cetol is technically not varnish)The bench plank teak really came alive with rich colors and a smooth finish. Planning for one more coat on these as they are one of the main sitting surfaces.Closeup of the bench plank teak after three coats. The nicest outcome of all the teak trim pieces. Am guessing this one had less overall exposure due to how the boat was stored by previous owner. The teak cross braces for the Spindrift Day Sailer look much better without chips and dings, and with a consistent finish. After about a day, the Cetol finish starts to dry to a nice, rich, smooth finish.
